We will be working outside but in the shade so make sure you have some work clothes, sunhats etc, just in case of weather changes! Morning and afternoon tea will be supplied but you will need to bring your own lunch.
Come with an idea or two, of what you want to create over the weekend, so Brent can give you suggestions, of how to put your sculpture together.
The workshop covers building a sculpture, starting from scratch by making a wire netting armature, or a recycled form, such as an old metal frame chairs, furniture or buckets.  You will each create a sculpture to take home. There are endless possibilities of what you can make. To sculpt the final shape a plaster compound called Darjit! will be used.  This is a plaster compound a bit like clay in texture but will stick almost to anything. It is a recycled plaster product-environmentally friendly, lightweight when dry and fantastic for large-scale work. The workshop starts with modeling small forms with darjit, to get the feel of it.

The Material takes about 4 days to dry completely. If you have to take your sculpture with you on the last day, bring a piece of plywood or similar, about 3ft square, to build your sculpture on so you can handle it when it is soft and heavier.

For more info on Darjit and photos of what people make at the workshops visit  www.sculptureparty.com
